Water Media Filters | Industrial & Commercial
Water media filters prepare the water for use in the Water treatment system or potable, boiler, or cooling make-up. Filtration is used for maintaining high water quality that requires the removal of large amounts of suspended solids (turbidity) in water. Suspended solids can consist of small particles such as silt, clay, grit, organic matter, larvae, zooplankton, algae, and other microorganisms. Filtration does not remove dissolved solids but may be used together with a softening process, which does reduce the concentration of dissolved solids.
Abrah Co provides multimedia and greensand filtration systems that perfectly match your application. We offer custom-designed pressure vessels, filter internals, and pumping and control systems. As experts in water purification and system fabrication,

Sand Anthracite Filters
Sand is the most common filter media. Generally, fine mesh sand is combined with a grain holding bed to remove suspended solids and turbidity. Depending on the particle size and application, pure blue sand, which is classified into different ranges, can be used as a filtration medium or substrate. Anthracite is considered as a filter medium when excess silica in water is not desirable and can remove turbidity of lower weight. Anthracite is commonly used where increased silica is undesirable.
Activated carbon filters
Activated carbon is used to remove taste, odor, organic contaminants and chlorine and is also used in many drinking water applications.

MultiMedia Filters and Greensand
Greensand manganese filters are refined silica materials that are used to purify water containing iron, manganese and hydrogen sulfide through oxidation.
Multi-media filters are required when maximum water quality is required and unwanted sediments are too small to be removed by standard media. It consists of several layers.
ProSand is based on a rare natural mineral. Its unique properties substantially improve the performance and cost of filtration media.
The AG filter is anhydrous silicon dioxide and has many advantages for reducing suspended solids.
The gravel has a very spherical shape that promotes good flow and even distribution in the support beds.
The calcite media filter is a specially graded calcium carbonate compound for acid neutralization with a constant dissolution rate for water treatment.
